Reed drophead threaders for PVC-coated steel pipe and conduit are opened up to fit snugly over and without damaging the PVC coating on pipe and conduit made by companies such as Robroy. The tapered NPT threads make for leak-free connections and allow pipe use for liquid or electric lines in corrosive atmospheres. The NPSM drophead produces a straight thread with less tight connection. Different color from standard red R12+ Dropheads helps avoid mix-up. Replacement dies are R12+ Segmental Dies, which fit these specially designed dropheads.
